You will complete the registration form and health questionnaire at the office before your first appointment — the front desk is happy to help.
A first visit to a new dental office raises the same questions every time: Will my insurance be accepted? What do I bring? How long will it take?
This page answers them so you can walk into Dental Friends without the guesswork. If something is missing, call 718-360-5850 — the front desk answers in English, Polish, and Spanish.
We accept most major dental plans, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, MetLife, and UnitedHealthcare. Plan lists change, so please give us your carrier and plan number before your first visit — we will check your coverage and tell you what to expect before you sit in the chair.
If you do not have dental insurance, please call us. Treatment costs are presented after the examination and before any procedure begins.
Your dental insurance card(if you have one) and a photo ID.
A list of your medicationsand any chronic conditions, allergies, or pregnancy — they affect the choice of anesthesia and treatment.
Previous records or X-raysfrom your last dentist, if available. Not required, but it shortens the visit.
A few extra minutesfor the registration form and health history.

We start by talking about what brought you in. Then Dr. Aneta Kozyra-Mejia examines your teeth and, if needed, takes X-rays. She then goes over the findings with you and proposes a treatment plan, separating what is urgent from what can wait. If you would like an exam and cleaning during the same visit, please mention it when you book.

If you are anxious about dental work, tell us when you schedule. It helps us set the right pace. More about our approach is on the Our Office page; the full range of treatment is under Services.

If you cannot make your appointment, please call as early as you can — the slot goes to another patient, often someone in pain.
